During summer thousands of tourists arrive at the island and therefore it would be wise to book rooms and tickets well in advance.

Bringing your own vehicle or renting a car or motorbike are the best solutions for getting around the island. There are also buses with a lot of schedules per day, and also taxis and radio-taxis for hire around the clock.

From June 1st to September 10th, the central street of the port closes at 8pm and becomes a pedestrian zone. Drivers, though, can use the peripheral road of the town.

You should also take into serious consideration the really strong winds that usually blow on the island during summer.
